Allen Anthony Williams, affectionately known as "Tony", entered eternal rest on October 27, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on February 26, 1954, in Greenwood, Mississippi, Tony was a beacon of love, laughter, and wisdom to all who knew him.
He was baptized at an early age and remained a faithful servant of God throughout his life. He was a member of Stanger's Home Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood and later joined Grace First Baptist Church in San Antonio, where he served as Vice President of the Brotherhood and remained a devoted member.
Tony graduated from Greenwood High School and pursued higher education at Mississippi Valley State University and St. Philip's College, earning an associate degree in Computer Programming. His professional journey reflected his heart for service
He began his career at Bob's Janitorial Services, followed by working at the Baldwin Piano and Organ Company in Greenwood. He also served courageously as a firefighter with the Greenwood Fire Department,
where his bravery and commitment to his community were evident.
After relocating to San Antonio, Tony continued his legacy of service with the San Antonio Independent School District, where he worked faithfully for 26 years until his well-deserved retirement.
Tony met his beloved wife, Melinda Townes, in 1978. They married in 1986 and shared 39 years of love and partnership. Together, they built a beautiful life in San Antonio, raising a loving family.
Tony's love for sports, especially the Miami Dolphins-was infectious. His loyalty and enthusiasm embodied the true spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie, and he found great joy in the fellowship of fellow fans and the thrill of competition.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Mary Alice Ballard Williams, and his brothers: Jesse, Peter, Louis Steven, and Horace Williams.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his devoted wife, Melinda Williams; his children, Sharonda Stewart (Memphis, TN), Tanesha Williams, and Marko (Muriah) Williams; and his grandchildren, Ainsley and Kiven Williams. He is also remembered
by his sisters, Arthria Smith (Curtis), Corsandra Gooch (Henry), Gwendolyn Johnson, and Janet Martin; his brother, Gwin Lee Williams (Marsha); and his mother-in-law, Melzina Townes.
His memory lives on through his sisters-in-law, Annie Jones, Billie Townes, Margaret Pittman (Leroy), Debra Ward (Duncan), and Linda Kindle (Lamar); his brothers-in-law, Henry Townes (Maggie), Sidney Townes, Solomon Townes, and Willie Townes; and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins, and dear friends.
Tony's life was a testament to faith, family, and service. His memory will live on in the hearts of
all who were blessed to know him.
