Alma Lee Parrish

Alma Lee Cook Parrish, 93, formerly of Swepsonville, passed away at her residence on Saturday, March 7, 2026 surrounded by her family.

A native of Blairsville, Georgia, she was the wife of 68 years to the late James Alvis Parrish and the daughter of James Avery Cook and Margaret Van Dora Chambers Cook, both deceased.

Alma worked for Burlington Industries and later in the medical field until her retirement. She enjoyed attending Victory Chapel Wesleyan Church until her health started to decline. Alma always looked forward to getting dressed up, having her hair and nails done and eating at a nice restaurant with her family and friends. She loved her family and her grandchildren brought her so much joy.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara P. Teer of Graham and Sandra P. Blanchard and her husband William of Mebane; son-in-law, Sam Kiser, Jr. of Snow Camp; four grandchildren, Amanda Nelson (Matt), Savannah Blanchard (Christian), Joey Blanchard (Lauren), Lisa K. Bradshaw (Craig); six great grandchildren, Ashley, Hunter, Chelsea, Taylor, Madison, and Lee; great great-grandson, Cooper and one on the way; one sister, Maxine Cook Cole; numerous loving nieces and nephews; and her dear friends, Linda Britt, Minda Visaya Rachel Eakes.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah P. Kiser; son-in-law, Mark Teer; grandson, Matthew Teer and six siblings, Dale, Ellard, Sue, Tine, Elgin and Jewel.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service. The burial will follow at Phillips Chapel cemetery, 2362 Brucewood Rd. Haw River, NC 27258.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Mallery, her first caregiver and Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful care given to their mother, especially to her RNs, Braden and Jasmine, her social worker, Jennifer and to her care team, Cindee and Rebecca. Also, a special Thank you to Ashley and Dee with At Home Eaze Healthcare for all the care and support given to Alma.
