Alma Gonzalez Rodriguez
October 14, 1958 – May 10, 2025
Alma Gonzalez Rodriguez, 66, of Odem, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025.
Born on October 14, 1958, in Alice, Texas, Alma was the beloved daughter of Francisco "Frank" Rocha Gonzales and Yolanda Flores Gonzalez. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose generous spirit and unwavering love touched all who knew her.
Alma spent many years working at Walmart and Christus Spohn, where she not only served her community with dedication but also built lifelong friendships. She had a love for life and a heart for others, often volunteering her time for school activities and church functions. She was an avid bowler and, in true Alma fashion, enjoyed trips to the casino whenever she could.
Though her last few years were marked by illness and limited mobility, her love for her friends and family never wavered. She may not have been able to visit as often as she wanted, but she carried each of you in her heart every day.
Alma is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco "Frank" Rocha Gonzales and Yolanda Flores Gonzalez; her maternal grandparents, Baldemar P. Flores and Idolina V. Flores; her paternal grandparents, Casiano and Manuela Gonzalez; her uncles Valdemar Flores Jr. and Jose Homero Flores; and her aunt Hermelinda Flores.
She is survived by her two loving sons: Guadalupe G. Rodriguez (Brittany Jardon) and Mark A. Rodriguez (Jaime) all from Odem, Texas; brother: Gilbert Gonzalez (Dora) from Corpus Christi; and uncle: Homero Flores from Corpus Christi. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Makayla Rodriguez from Portland, Juliet, Jaylynn, Khloe, and Tristan Rodriguez all from Odem; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Guadalupe Rodriguez Jr., Mark Rodriguez, Elliot Gonzalez, Jeremy Gonzalez, Clarence Hastings Jr., and Matthew Orozco.
Alma's legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Visitation will begin Monday, May 19, 2025, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 20, 2025, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Odem. Burial will follow in San Pedro Cemetery, Odem.
