Adan Gomez Jr., a cherished husband, devoted father, beloved grandfather, and friend to many, was born on January 6, 1954, and passed away on September 8, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, faith, and friendship that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
Adan is survived by his loving wife, Martha Jean Gomez, and a vibrant family including daughters Melissa (Roy) Guerrero, Michelle Ramirez, and Melanie (Joshua) George. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren-Jacob Gomez, Justine Gomez, Steve Ramirez IV, Joseph Salazar, Julian George, Jacqueline George, and Jefferson George-along with seven great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his dear niece, Brandi Gomez (Scott), nephews Tommy Lee (Cynthia) Gomez; brothers, George Gomez (Laura), Martin Gomez (Maria), Baldemar "Bo" Gomez; Sisters, Bertha Gomez, Mary Helen Gomez, Teresa Espinoza (Rudolfo) and numerous other nieces and nephews who cherished his presence in their lives.
Adan was preceded in death by his twin sons, Adan Gomez III and Ayden Gomez; parents, Adan and Innocencia Gomez; brother Guadalupe "Lupito" Gomez and Edmund Gomez; niece, Sara Gomez; and son-in-law, Steve Ramirez. He was a man of faith, a Fourth-Degree Knight of Columbus, who radiated kindness and made lifelong friends wherever he ventured.
Adan's passions were as vast as the Texas sky. He loved fishing with friends, savoring the thrill of Dallas Cowboys games, relishing old classic movies, and enjoying quiet evenings at home with popcorn in hand. His fur babies, Katie Lou Gomez, Lili Mae Gomez, and Baby Bubba Gomez, were a source of joy and companionship that he treasured. Adan had a special bond with his loving wife Martha-two souls intertwined in an everlasting love that echoed through their shared adventures, from wandering along the Riverwalk to discovering new restaurants in San Antonio.
As a reflection of his faith and commitment, Adan was actively involved in his church, volunteering for numerous functions and cherishing the community of his brother Knights. His indomitable spirit served as an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Adan had a heart of gold that welcomed unbounded love and friendship, believing in the beauty of connections and the power of kindness.
In remembrance of Adan, funeral services will be held at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Public viewing will take place on September 15, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a rosary at 7 PM. The funeral service will commence on September 16, 2025, at 4:30 PM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate a life lovingly lived.
Martha Jean, reflecting on their journey together, shared, "We were two souls brought together by faith, bound in love that kept us together. I will always carry him in my heart-parting is not goodbye, but 'until we meet again.'" Adan Gomez Jr. will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to shine in the lives he touched and the love he shared. Amen.
