Las Cruces- Alma S. Rodriguez age 68 passed away July 6, 2022 at Three Crosses Regional Hospital.
Alma was born in El Paso Texas on December 29, 1953 to Salvador Salas and Manuela Flores Salas. She is survived by siblings, Patricia Baron of Barstow California, Gloria (Andy) Rojas, Ernesto Salas, Salvador (Julie) Salas Jr, Susie (Augie) Avilucea and Stella (Manny) Frias of Las Cruces NM. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister Jesus De Maria Macias and the love of her life Patrocinio (Pat) Rodriguez Sr.
She was married to Pat Rodriguez for 49 years. They have two children, son Patrick (Bernadette) Rodriguez Jr and daughter Candice (Bryan)Trujillo.
Alma was employed as a Bus driver with the School buses and later with the City of Las Cruces transit department, where she retired. Alma loved to read, spend time with her grandkids and take care of her dogs Max and Joshua and cat Lupita. She has 6 grandchildren that she loved and adored. Brittaney (Javi) Rodriguez, Patrick Rodriguez 3rd, Abel D. Rodriguez, Bryan Trujillo Jr, Isaac Trujillo and Desiraee Trujillo. She has 2 great-grandsons Moose (Javier) Cereceres and Julias Cereceres. Alma had many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
Alma had a genuine acceptance for all people she encountered in life, she was easily entertained by company and would laugh until she couldn't breathe. She had great patience for listening and never stopped encouraging her grandchildren through all their adventures and wild ideas of childhood. She opened her home to many and always made you feel welcomed in her own quite ways. Her beautiful smile, kind and nurturing spirit is what she will always be remembered for. She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She dedicated her life to her family.
We would like to send a special thank you to the Three Crosses Regional Hospital staff, all the doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists. Thank you to all the family and friends that helped in any way, throughout our difficult times. We couldn't have done it without the love and support.
Funeral services for Alma will be on Friday July 22, 2022, at La Paz-Grahams Funeral Home beginning with visitation at 9:30 am with the rosary following and followed by the Mass at 10:00am. Burial will be immediately following the services at St. Josephs Cemetery where she will be buried with her husband of 49 years.
