John was born in El Paso, TX to Gustavo and Elizabeth Chavez on January 25, 1971.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gustavo S. & Elizabeth C. Chávez, both his paternal & maternal grandparents, and several beloved uncles & cousins.
He is survived by his three sisters, Rachael M., Elizabeth and Ramona Chávez, his nephews Oliver Miller and Canaan McWillie, Penny & Gavin.
A memorial and rosary will be held at La Paz Grahams on March 27, 2026, at 4pm. His cremains will be dispersed in the mountains as he requested at a later date. JC will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Arrangements are with La Paz Grahams Funeral Home 555 W. Amador Ave Las Cruces NM 88005. To view online obituaries, visit perchesgrahams.com. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you bring a sapling tree or plant one in his honor.
