Alona Rochelle Watchman
Alona Oye (Our little Oye-girl).
Born: October 24, 1985, Provo UT
Passed away: Dec 17, 2025, Albuquerque, NM
Alona will be lovingly missed by her family. Father James Michael Watchman, Mother
Lisa N Smith and younger brother Michael Kurtis Watchman. As well as her beloved life
partner, Nicholas Gurule and his parents Gerry & Bobbie Gurule and her fur babies
Shepley and Shugga.
Alona attended Highlands University, Las Vegas NM earning her Media Arts BA and
worked as an IT specialist at Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque, NM. She also did a
lot of volunteer work, especially in the Art and with dogs.
Alona was an accomplished and focus person with a wonderful sense of humour, often
finding the funny side in life- she was our fun child! She loved the outdoors and sports
including hiking, biking, snowboarding and running, never giving up and brought that
baton over the finish line in all she did!
Alona was a loving and caring soul often attentive to people overlooked and choosing to
help them. She was tender with her family and pets. She was sensitive and would cry
when puppies howled in Disneys Lady & the Tramp movie.
Alona is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a
spiritual person turning to God her whole life.
We are never going to stop missing our Oye girl who was tough yet so sweet.
