Alonzo Mattingly Obituary
Alonzo Maynard Mattingly was born on February 19, 1941 in Prospect, Kentucky, and passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
Alonzo was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and served his community as a police officer with the Jeffersontown Police Force, where he retired as a sergeant. He was also a devoted member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Mattingly; his parents, Alonzo V. Mattingly and Mary Frances Mattingly; and his sister, Vivian Mattingly.
Alonzo is survived by his son, Anthony (Christina) Mattingly; grandchildren, Michael Eichmann, Joshua Mattingly, and Noah Mattingly; siblings, Victory B. Stewart, William Arnold Mattingly (Carol), Eva Jewell Mattingly (Vincent), and Mary Frances Nation.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 13800 Aiken Road, Louisville, KY 40245. Interment of Ashes will be at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
