Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carrier Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Windham on Nov. 16, 2025.
Alpesh Thakorbhai Patel, 54, of Clinton, MA, passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Worcester and raised in Grafton, MA, Alpesh was a curious and adventurous child who grew into a young man known for his athleticism, humor, and generous spirit. He attended Saint John's High School and Grafton High School, where he played football, basketball, and ran track-with a level of dedication and freakish strength that friends and coaches never forgot.
Alpesh earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1993. During his time at WPI, he became a proud member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, forming lifelong friendships that felt more like family. The brotherhood he created there shaped him deeply, bringing him years of laughter, support, and unforgettable memories.
He met the love of his life, Falguni, in the most unexpected way-trying to sell her his car, even though she never ended up buying it. To lighten the blow, she asked him out as a peace offering. What began as a simple business exchange quickly turned into much more. Their connection was natural, immediate, and genuine. From that moment on, their lives moved together, growing into 28.5 years of partnership, including 25 beautiful years of marriage-years filled with love, laughs, and commitment to one another. Falguni was a wonderful caretaker and devoted partner, and together they shared countless cherished moments, especially in the later years, treasuring every day together.
A talented and honorable engineer, Alpesh built a long and successful career specializing in technical support, systems engineering, and cloud computing solutions. Throughout his work with Springtide Networks, Chantry Networks, Siemens Enterprise Communications, Red Hat, and Juniper Networks, he made meaningful contributions and lasting friendships. Colleagues admired not only his sharp mind and steady leadership but the kindness and patience he extended to everyone around him.
More than any professional achievement, Alpesh's greatest pride was his family. Together, he and Falguni raised two daughters, Asha and Sofia, who were the center of his world. Alpesh was their teacher, protector, number-one fan, and a constant source of strength. When the weight of the world felt overpowering, his calmness and wisdom could fix any problem in just a few minutes. Whether helping with homework, cheering from the sidelines, or offering guidance as they grew, he brought unwavering support and love to every moment of fatherhood.
Spending time with friends and family was at the heart of everything he did. He treasured countless memories from trips to Lake Winnipesaukee, Captiva Island in Florida, his yearly "boys trips" to Las Vegas, the NCAA March Madness Tournament, and the Saratoga Race Track. Each of these moments was filled with amusement, stories, and the warmth of the people he loved most.
He was a wonderful son, a devoted father, a caring brother, and a cherished uncle. His family was always at the heart of everything he did. Alpesh is survived by his wife, Falguni; his daughters, Asha and Sofia; his sister, Shilpa Firmin, her husband Zachary, and their children, Connor and Lily; and his parents, Thakorbhai and Sarojben Patel - along with his two beloved "cat-dogs," Levi and Riley. He is lovingly welcomed above by his mother and father-in-law, Nirmalaben and Vallabhbhai Patel; his uncles, Pursottombhai, Jayantibhai, Rameshbhai, and Sumantbhai Patel; his aunt, Madhuben; his cousin, Neha Patel; and his dear friends, Tom Parsons and John Wright.
Strong, funny, courageous, hardworking, and truly one of a kind, Alpesh brought peace and warmth to every room he entered. He was the type of person who could make you laugh even on your worst day-often laughing at you, not with you-but always in a way that made you feel loved. He enjoyed staying active-working out, boxing, versing his girls in basketball, and even the occasional hot yoga session-spending quality time with friends and family, and enjoying cozy movie nights at home. Above all, he will be remembered for the deep love he carried, the integrity he lived by, and the kindness he showed to everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 18th. Visitation will be held from 10–11 AM at the Carrier Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 38 Range Road,
