Leon E. Marchand, 88, of Haverhill, MA, passed away on Tuesday evening, November 11, 2025, at the High Pointe Hospice house in Haverhill.

He was born on October 7, 1937, to Lucy and Joseph Marchand. Leon was raised in Andover, Massachusetts and attended local schools. He began his career working at the paper mills in South Lawrence before he transitioned to Lucent Technologies. It was there that Leon worked as a materials handler for over 32 years, until his retirement.

Leon was an avid outdoorsman whose passions ranged from hunting, snowmobiler, bicycling and motorcycle. He found his greatest joy in sharing adventures with his family, whether on camping trips to Nova Scotia, New Hampshire, and Maine, or later at their beloved camp in Athens, Maine. Leon also enjoyed many trips to Salisbury beach.

He will be remembered for his classic jokes and for his well-loved phrase, "C'est la vie".

Leon is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Boucher and her significant other, Keith Oatman; his significant other of fifty years, Roberta Simmons; his grandchildren, Stephanie Boucher and her Husband Bill Fichera, Nicholas Marchand; his step-children, Susan Hardy and her Husband Al Hardy, Scott Simmons and Valerie Batty; his great-grandson, Corbin Fichera; and his sister, Joan Lemelin.

In addition to his parents, Leon was predeceased by his son, Roger Marchand; and his brother, Alan Marchand.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 15th, 2025, from 10am to 12pm, with the Funeral Service beginning at 12pm, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A private burial will be Monday, November 17th, 2025.
