Alta Dixon Obituary
Alta Leona Dixon was born April 11, 1928 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Garland F. Cheek and Lena Martha (Davis) Cheek. She passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at her home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma at the age of 97.
Mrs. Dixon worked many years as a nurse's aide and a seamstress. She was a loving mother who enjoyed traveling and fishing. On September 21, 1946, in Dumas, Texas, she married Burlin Afton Dixon; he later preceded her in death on September 30, 1988.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Denver and two sons, Bob and Mark.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Wayne Dixon and wife Willie of Shawnee, Gary Eugene Dixon and wife Vickie of Maude and Larry Dale Dixon of Wilburton; two daughters, Delinda Kaye Carthen of Shawnee and Brenda Deann Blanton of Wylie, Texas; one sister, Letha Berniece Hodges of Muskogee; 26 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.
