Alta York of Silo, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born on Wednesday, November 16, 1938 in Lehigh, Oklahoma to Beatrice (Mills) and Wayne Eugene Wolfe.

Alta was of the Baptist faith. She married James York on November 10, 1959 in Durant, Oklahoma. She worked at Diaper Jeans for years, then later worked as a dispatcher for Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

She was preceded in death by her parents Beatrice and Wayne Wolfe; beloved husband James York; son Russell York; sister Marilyn Tollett and husband Travis; and brother-in-law Chad York and wife Carolyn.

Survivors include her daughter Debbie York of Silo, Oklahoma; grandchildren Tiffany York of Mead, Oklahoma, April Norred and husband Craig of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Russ York of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Charlie York and Sophie Lipman of New York City, New York, Josh York and wife Courtney of Circleville, Ohio, Alex Goeken and Ryan Porter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; great grandchildren Haylee Connolly, Taylor York and wife Alexis, Jesse Shipman, Sammy Norred, June Norred, Owen Norred; great-great grandchild Mikaya T. York and one on the way; brother Larry Wayne Wolfe and wife Polly of Spirit Lake, Idaho; sister-in-law Ann Brimage and husband Don of Durant, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Gary York and wife Bernice of Port Barre, Louisiana; nieces Leann Skaggs of Silo, Oklahoma, Judy Lambert and husband Curtis of Redden, Oklahoma, Michaela York of Geismar, Louisiana; nephews David W. Tollett of Sherman, Texas, Cody York of Silo, Oklahoma as well as other extended family and friends.

A family visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Gordon Funeral Home, 221 N 3rd Ave. Durant, Oklahoma

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Restland Cemetery in Silo, Oklahoma with Bro. Roger Speers officiating.
