Alton Boyd Paul Manola

Alton Boyd Paul Manola, born Dec 3, 1944, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at his home at the age of 78. He was a native and lifelong resident of Grosse Tete. Alton was a retired plant operator that worked at Albemarle Corp for 39 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grosse Tete. Alton was an avid hunter and was the President of 6T Hunting Club. He made great memories with his grandchildren when he taught them how to fish. Alton was always willing to lend a helping hand.
"Paw" Alton loved his family and was deeply loved. He enjoyed taking his great grandchildren on their daily 4-wheeler rides. He never met a stranger and always had a funny story to tell. Because of his faith in Jesus Christ his personal Savior we look forward to our reunion in Heaven.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 17th at Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11:30 a.m., conducted by Pastor Jon Nelson, Jr. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Grosse Tete. Alton is survived by his wife of 59 years, Faye Falcon Manola; children, Hidy Rivet and husband Barry, Danette Nelson and husband Jon Jr.; grandchildren, Jonathan Nelson III and wife Laura, Gabriel Nelson and wife Katelin, Hannah Manola; great-grandchildren, Waylon Nelson, Jackson Nelson, Troy Nelson, Rhett Nelson; brother, Gerald Manola. Alton was preceded in death by his parents, Francis "Boy" and Eva "Sis" Nickens Manola; infant son, Troy Manola; brother, Carol "Flicka" Manola. Pallbearers will be Barry Rivet, Jon Nelson Jr., Jonathan Nelson III, Gabriel Nelson, Brandon Shipley and Logan Fileccia.
