Alton L. Cobb, 88, of Greeley, CO, passed away on August 30, 2025.

He was born on November 19, 1936, in South Dakota to Harvie and Anna Cobb. Al graduated from Kersey High School in 1955 and married Joanne Fiolkoski in May of 1962.

Al is survived by his wife Joanne; his daughter Tylene and her husband Scot, and their children Anthony (wife Tiffany and daughter Kinsley), Mary, Matthew, and Catherine. He is survived by son Alan and his wife Heather, and their children Morgan and Hayley. He is also survived by his siblings, Margaret Williams, Fern Kohler, and Mel (Cindy) Cobb, along with many nieces and nephews.

Al spent 47 years in the banking industry. He began his career with Weld County Bank, which later became United Bank, and retired from Cache Bank.

Beyond his professional life, Al enjoyed fishing, watching sports, and bowling for many years. In fact, it was through bowling that he met his wife-she once went through the drive-through at the bank where he worked, and he asked if she could bowl. When she said yes, he invited her to join him that very evening, that invitation began a lifetime together.

He also loved refurbishing antique furniture, mowing his lawn in the summer, and taking daily walks of 3–6 miles, where he delighted in visiting with neighbors and friends. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and helping anyone he could.

Al was a kind and patient man, and if we can all learn from his example, we will be better people for it.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Family and friends will be notified once arrangements are made.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Weld County Food Bank. https://weldfoodbank.org/donate-now/

I am saddened to hear of Alton's passing. We went to high school together where he was two grades ahead of me, and I worked with him at Weld County Bank for a couple of years.
He was a good friend and always stopped to talk when we would meet out in the marketplace.
I will miss seeing him!
