Alton "Tobe Silverton" Riddell

Silverton - Alton "Tobe" Riddell, age 87, of Silverton, passed away on August 23, 2025. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at the Silverton Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Silverton. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home.

Aton "Tobe" Riddell was born to R.L.O. (Rags) and Ella Leah Smith Riddell on October 27, 1937 on the Riddell Farm. Tobe was an only child and spent his lifetime working the Riddell farm, which he loved. In 1998 Tobe was presented a homestead plaque, from the State of Texas, for having possession of the Riddell family farm for over 100 years.

Tobe went to Silverton ISD and graduated in 1956. Tobe was a lifetime member of the Young Farmers Association. He has been a member of the BCAA since its inception. He served on the Caprock SWCD board since 1999, and the FSA board for 9 yrs. as of 2018. He was also a member of the Silverton Booster Club. He has been on the Silverton Volunteer Fire Dept. since 2001.

Tobe is preceded in death by his father in 1982, and his mother in 1987.

He is survived by many cousins and close friends.

Tobe was a friend to all and loved by many.
