Paul & Debbie, and Bynum: My dear family, I am so truly sorry to learn of the passing of this beautiful spirit, our beloved Alton. I can't change the fact that I did not spend enough time with him (or any of you), but please know that I love you all so much. He was so sweet and Christ-filled--you couldn't miss it! A tremendous loss for all those left behind, but what a joy for Heaven!!! God Bless you all and may He give you comfort during this difficult time. Love to you all.

Paul, I was reading the local news last Thursday and saw where your dad had gone home to be with Jesus. I would have been at the service if I had known. I've known him for many years and he was such a sweet and wonderful man. A few years ago he was singing with Bill P and Barry Henry and Barry got sick and couldn't make a few engagements, Bill got in touch with me and asked me if I would fill in, and I told him it would be a honor. That is when I really got to know Alton. We had such a great time lifting up the name of Jesus in song. Now he is singing with the Angels. Rest in peace my good friend.Ron

So very ,very sorry to hear of Mr. Simmon's passing. He was so instrumental in many of the youth's spiritual education and helping to form their spiritual lives for the future at Oak Grove Baptist Church during the 70's and 80's. He worked tirelessly to help so many. I will always regard him as a good friend and mentor. He was a wonderful teacher and Bible scholar and, ultimately, disciple. He has reached the destination that he always strived to and taught us all about. May you all take comfort in knowing that he is with good friends, family and in the loving arms of our savior and Lord. We WILL one day be rejoined with Alton and rejoice together. Again, my sincerest condolences and sympathy to his family. His spirit here on Earth will be missed by all who knew him. Rob & Tina Wagner
