October 4, 1962 - March 5, 2025
Pass Christian, Mississippi - Alton L. Welch, Jr. (Al) Welch of Pass Christian, MS passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the age of sixty-two in Gulfport, MS.
Born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, on October 4, 1962, AL was a father, brother, and a friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Alton L. Welch, Sr and Joann Latino Blades as well as his beloved son Brandon Edward Rathbone.
Al leaves behind his cherished daughter. Fallon W. Wescovich (Jon); his two sisters, Sherry L. Owen (Joe Sam), Kim Martin; and his brother,Todd Collin Welch, Sr. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Porter Wescovich and Avery Wescovich; as well as his nieces and nephews: Tiffany Dymond, Heather Williams (Ric), Mitch Owen (Danielle), Collin Welch, Sam Owen (Kirsten), Ashley Necaise, Chris Amacker, and Jessica Pittman (John); and several great nieces and nephews.
Al was a dedicated worker, spending many years as a skilled welder and pipe fitter. His hard work, coupled with his unwavering love for those around him, defined much of his life. He was a passionate outdoorsman, finding joy in hunting, fishing, and barbecuing. He especially loved grilling with his father, using a special family recipe passed down through the generations, often shard with his dear friends. One of his favorite activities was spending time fishing on Gasparilla Island in Florida with his father, an experience that brought him immense peace and happiness. Al's greatest pride and joy was his daughter, Fallon. His legacy will live in the hearts of those who knew him. He may no longer walk among us, but his spirit will remain with us always.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 12,2025, at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, Mississippi, with services to be held in the chapel at 2:00 pm.
