Alton C. Wilson Jr.

Alton C. Wilson, Jr., 82, of Downingtown, formerly of Bayonne, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Chester County Hospital. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth "Betsy" (Devaney) Wilson, sharing 60 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Bayonne, NJ on May 1, 1943, he was the son of the late Alton C. Wilson, Sr. and Mary (Wilkowski) Wilson. Following high school, Al joined the United States Air Force and was a proud Veteran. He continued his service to others and his community by becoming a Firefighter in Bayonne for 25 years. Al's life is an example of putting others first and living in service to those around you. He was a devoted husband, exemplary father and loving grandfather. Family was most important to him, and he will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Surviving in addition to his wife Betsy are his children Tara Gordinier, wife of Carl, of Exton, PA, and Michael Wilson, husband of Amy, of Manasquan, NJ; grandchildren Cailee Long (Brennan), Collin, Aidan, Maura, Michael and Maeve; one great grandson Blake; and his sister Rosemary Klepczyk. He was preceded in death by his brothers Robert Wilson, Ronald Wilson and Stephen Wilson.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 11 AM at James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. Family and friends are welcome to visit from 9:45 – 10:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
