Stanley John Cramer, "Stan the Man", "Big Stosh", "CRAMER!" was born on July 4, 1955 in
Elmer, NJ. "A real live nephew of his Uncle Stan; born on the 4th of July; he's got a Yankee Doodle Sweetheart; a Yankee doodle joy", wife Caron Heilman Cramer. Also his joy is daughter Leah Lin Meng Cramer (AKA "June bug", "MengMeng Monkey", or "Larry").
Stan and Caron (AKA "Schpunker" or "Pookie") were married 37 years and lived in
Downingtown, PA for 34 years. Leah joined the family in 2004 and the three Cramers were blessed to be together, enjoying many "Cramer adventures".
Son of Donald Alonzo Cramer and Elise Bleichner Cramer, he is survived by brother Donald (Becky Kale), sister Elyse, and sister Marta Cramer Schindler (Elliot), nieces Daina Cramer Schoof (Alex, son Ethan), Yvonne Cramer (Luis), Sarah Schindler Brown (Josh, sons Theo & Dillon), and nephew Jake Schindler. On Caron's side, survived by her oldest brother Thomas Heilman (Debbie; kids Chris/Dior, Amanda/Drew/son Miles, Katie/Tommy/kids Isaac and Sarah), Jim Heilman (Jill; kids Kristen/Lucas & Elizabeth, Briana/Seth, Caleb), Lisa Diffenbaugh (Jonas, Sr./son Jonas Jr)
A sailor for the Navy, Stan was a Second Class Petty Officer for 6 years active and 2 reserve. He was on the USS Abraham Lincoln SSBN 602 and the USS Ethan Allen SSBN 608.
Stan's education included graduating from Glassboro High School, NJ in 1973, West Chester University (undergraduate 1984 and Master's 1986) and Temple University for his Doctorate in Curriculum and Education (2001).
West Chester University was Stan's employment home for 32 years. He taught Kinesiology and Exercise Science courses as well as activity classes. "Cramer" loved his students and they loved him as well. One of his many joys of the job was watching them become amazing teachers.
Stan attended the Baptist Church of West Chester where he was baptized and a member. Over the 35+ years of being a member he attended several mission trips, was on the Mission and Christian Education boards, and taught Sunday School.
Hobbies through the years for Stan included his car, a Shelby Mustang GT that he raced, showed, and just enjoyed talking about. He was a collector of many things including hats, diecast cars, bobble heads, and college sweatshirts to name a few. Building model cars, gardening, cooking, reading, watching racing and Philly sports, playing tennis and golf all make the list of activities Stan enjoyed. Stan was fascinated with history, especially learning more about his dad in the war. Most of all, he enjoyed the cats, currently Walter and Mei Mei.
Stan's sense of humor, his love for his family, his love of teaching his students, and him being an overall good guy are all things that will be missed.
