Alva Bruce Tilley

Alva Bruce Tilley, known affectionately as Bruce by those who loved him, embarked on his final adventure on July 16, 2025. Born on July 26, 1959 and residing in Trumbull County Ohio, Bruce's zest for life led him to make his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, a city that matched his vibrant and charismatic personality. He spent many glorious years in the city, a retired carpenter who found joy in the rich tapestry of life, the hum of his motorcycle, and the melody of his guitar. His retirement years were filled with laughter and music, his funny anecdotes, and generous spirit making him beloved by family and friends alike.

Bruce's love for life was contagious. His adventurous streak led him from football fields to concert arenas, his laughter echoing through the halls of music festivals and the quiet corners of spending time with his family and getting to know his grandchildren. He was a seasoned carpenter and only had to measure once. His zest for life was beautifully summed up by Mark Twain when he said, "Throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Bruce will be dearly missed by his daughters, Carrie (Robert) Oviatt and Lauren Bishop, his brothers James (Hope) Zakany, Terry Kelley, and his grand children; Haley Criddle, Robert Oviatt Jr, Richard Oviatt, Aurora Bishop, Zoey Bishop, Cereza Bishop, and Liam Bishop. He was preceded in death by his father Alva Wayne Tilley, and his mother Joan (Ernest) Zakany.

Services for Bruce are under the direction of Heritage Mortuary.
