Alvah Rose Talley, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on October 2, 2024, in Granville County, the place of both his birth and final days. He was born on August 17, 1934, to Charlie Emory Talley and Rosa Bell Pulliam Talley. Alvah's life was a testament to his hard working ethic and honest values he carried throughout his journey.
A graduate of Oak Hill High School, Alvah dedicated much of his life to raising tobacco, hay, and other crops, embodying the spirit of hard work that the farming community revered. Further contributing to his legacy, he also worked for Lenox China, where he exhibited an unwavering commitment to his craft.

These qualities made him not only a respected figure in the community but also a beloved member of his family. He is survived by his cherished wife of 72 years, Ailiene Poole Talley, and their children: Randall Talley, Larry Talley (Carolyn), Dean Talley (Von), and Pam Averette (Artie). Alvah was a proud grandfather to Jeremy, Christie, Chad, Nicole, Jason, Isaac, Jacob, Jenna, Ethan, Caleb, and Lily Rose, who all brought joy into his life. Additionally, he was blessed with eight great-grandchildren. Alvah is also survived by his stepbrother, Tony Talley.
