Alveeta Harold-Nelson Obituary

The Life of Alveeta Harold-Nelson

Our beloved aunt, sister, wife, and daughter was born on November 17, 1952, in Burton Station, to William and Antoinette Harold. She was raised in a close-knit family alongside her siblings: sisters, Estralita, Cobenia, Trivenia, and brother, Antoine Harold.

She resided in Virginia Beach for 73 years, where she built a life defined by independence, excellence, and love. She was the devoted wife of Kevin Nelson of Atlanta, Georgia, and together they shared a bond rooted in love, travel, and companionship.

Alveeta was a true entrepreneur, proudly owning and operating her own hair salons. Her work ethic was unmatched-she was meticulous, focused, driven, and deeply passionate about everything she pursued. She said what she meant and meant what she said, living her life with intention and integrity. Though she was a very private person, those who knew her well understood the depth of her loyalty and love.

One of her greatest passions was cheerleading. She was a cheerleader at Norfolk State University and later remained closely connected as an alumni cheerleader. Cheerleading was not just an activity for her-it was a joy and a defining part of who she was. Anyone who knew her knew how deeply she loved it.

Family meant everything to her. She loved her family fiercely-sometimes to a fault-and her favorite person in the world was her mother, Antoinette Harold. The two shared a special bond filled with shopping trips, meals together, and simply enjoying one another's company. Though she did not have children of her own, she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own, offering guidance, protection, and unwavering support.

She leaves behind her three sisters, Estralita Lawrence, Cobenia, and Levi Jackson, Trivenia and Vick Webb; brother, Antoine Harold; husband, Kevin Nelson; nieces, Tamijo, Chantel, Destiny, Candace Keaira, and Kchella; nephews, Anson and Titus; stepchildren, Andre and Felicity McLean, as well as a host of great nieces and nephews. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and wife. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. While our hearts mourn her loss, we take comfort in knowing she is now resting peacefully in heaven.
