Bovy, Alvin Raymond "Al", age 90 of Anoka, formerly of Fridley, passed away on August 16, 2023.
Al was born April 7, 1933 in Fort Ripley, MN. He was one of 10 children born to Joseph and Ida Bovy. He grew up in a farming family in the St. Cloud area. He had many jobs over the years including working on ore boats, a logger, Honeywell, handyman, real estate investor and landlord, and too many more to list -- he really was a jack of all trades! He met the love of his life, Bernie, and were united in marriage on October 17th, 1955. They were happily married for 62 years!
Al was a longtime member of the Church of St. William and a Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus, along with many other serving duties. Al and Bernie spent many years traveling in their RV, spending time with friends in Arizona, and fishing on his boat.
Alvin will be deeply missed by his children, Cheryl (James) Jensen, Gail (Ken) Mostoller, Lynn (Terry) Ostlund; daughter in law Brenda Bovy; 9 grandchildren Kristy (Derek) Nutter, Melissa (Samuel) Strommen, Miranda Bovy, Melanie (Darrick) Becken, Ryan (Tess) Bovy, Brittney Jensen, Katy Ostlund, Heather Mostoller, Jake Ostlund; 8 great-grandchildren; and many other friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, parents, son Daryl, grandson Matthew, and his siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. William, 6120 5th St NE, Fridley, MN with visitation 1-hour prior to mass at church. Interment will be at Epiphany Cemetery.
