Alvin J. Bowen, 66, of Clinton Corners, NY, died Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. For many years and until his retirement Mr. Bowen was a roofing contractor and he also was a longtime member of the Standfordville Fire Company. Born on June 13, 1942, in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Alvin and Martha (Ross) Bowen. Alvin married Gail Koraleski on October 17, 1992 at Clinton Alliance Church in Shultzville. Gail survives at home in Clinton Corners. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters; Marjorie Fareras of Hyde Park, NY, and Laura Harrison of Pennsylvania, three sons; Thomas of Tivoli, NY, Randy of Millbrook, NY, and Todd Bowen of Pine Plains, NY, a step daughter; Nicole Wagner of Ohio, three sisters; Adrienne Salitte of Florida, Priscilla Vicola of Nanuet, NY, and Carol Schwankee of Ancram, NY, three brothers; Russell of Florida, John of Yonkers, NY, and Michael Bowen of Pine Plains, NY, seventeen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.. He was predeceased by a sister: Barbara Muncey. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 91 E. Market St., Rhinebeck, NY. The Reverend Thomas L. Hartley will officiate. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Monday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM.
