Alvin Solomon Coleman
February 14, 1950 – May 15, 2025
Alvin Solomon Coleman, 75, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Alvin was one of eight children and the proud fraternal twin of the late Calvin Coleman. He was a man of strength, principle, and deep devotion to both his faith and his family.
He served honorably in the United States military from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam War. After his service, he made his home in Long Beach, California, where he worked on ships at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. Feeding others brought him true joy-he was always happiest when cooking and sharing meals with loved ones, friends, and neighbors.
Alvin married the love of his life, Charlie Jene Coleman, on September 22, 2018, and together they built a home rooted in faith, love, and strength.
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Alvin's faith was the foundation of his life. He had a deep passion for the preaching work and ministry, serving diligently up until his passing. His dedication was unmatched, and he found true purpose in helping others come to know Jehovah.
He was also a lifelong basketball enthusiast and a man who took great pride in the order and cleanliness of his home. Alvin didn't believe in sugar-coating-he told the truth plainly and taught the lessons that truly mattered. His wisdom, candor, and presence left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Alvin is preceded in death by his siblings John Alexander, Sam Alexander, Brenda Minnefield, Gregory Alexander, and Calvin Coleman. He is survived by his siblings Dorothy Solomon Nelson, Patricia Solomon Coleman, Larry Coleman, and Victoria Alexander.
He leaves behind six beloved children: Tracy Coleman Griffin, Jameelah Coleman, Alvin Coleman Jr., Najah Coleman, Tiffany Coleman, and Calvin Coleman. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who will carry forward his legacy of love, strength, and faith.
Alvin Solomon Coleman was a protector, a provider, and a man of unwavering faith. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit and teachings will live on in every life he touched.
