Saluda, SC: Dorothy Brown Coleman, 68, the widow of Preston Coleman, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Saluda Nursing Center.

She was born in Saluda, SC, February 16, 1957, daughter of the late Bobby Scurry and the late Hattie Bell-Brown. She and Christine Lawrence was raised like sisters in the home of the grandparents, the late Rolland and Hattie Brown. She received her education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina where she graduated from Saluda High in 1975. At an early age, she joined Lockhart Baptist Church, after marriage to her husband the late Preston Coleman she moved her membership to Pleasant Hill. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Saluda Nursing Center where she worked many years until her retirement. One of Dorothy's favorite hobbies was to play candy crush on her phone.

Left to cherish her memory son Leon D. Coleman of Saluda, SC, stepson Latron Jackson, Ninety-Six, SC, and step daughter Shateka Jackson of Ninety-Six, SC. Sister, Patty Scurry of Augusta, GA, special sibling Christine (LC) Lawrence of Saluda, SC; two aunts, Martha Lyons and Ethel T. Williams; two uncles, Bennie L. Brown and Roland Brown; four sisters-in-law and six brothers- in-law; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family is at the home of her sister-in-law, Lois and Willie Bradshaw, 119 Catfish Road, Saluda, SC.
