Alvin Olan Lewis of Ironton, MO, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the age of 80 years, 3 months, and 15 days. He was born August 26, 1944, in St. Louis, MO, to the late Olan "Jimmy" and Mary Lee (Lloyd) Lewis.
On May 22, 1976, Alvin was united in marriage to Drucilla Dudley who survives. Also surviving are two children, Tim Lewis of Ironton, MO, and Shawn Lewis and wife Rachel of Conroe, TX, five grandchildren, Brooke, Jordan, Austin, Autumn, and Landon; one great-grandchild Ryan, and many more loving family members and friends.
Alvin is preceded in rest by his parents.
For many years Alvin worked as an over the road truck driver which he loved. He always had a story about his travels, and before his retirement was delivering for Dix Greenhouse out of Park Hills, MO.
He loved to spend outdoors, whether it be deer hunting, walking in the woods or spending time at Black River. He also loved NASCAR and was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt, Dale Jr., and Carl Edwards, his favorite number was 13 (it was half of his birthday), he couldn't play guitar but bought one for Drucilla to learn how to play, and wanted to start making birdhouses; he had all the materials to start making them but never got to start. He was also a past member of the Eagles Lodge.
Alvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family and would do so at every opportunity. He loved to laugh, joke around, and just have a good time with those whom he loved. Alvin Lewis will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held in Annapolis Cemetery.
