Alvin Ludwig Obituary

Our dad, Al Ludwig, passed away on Sunday, October 5th. He was a Christian man. Al talked the talk, but also walked the walk. He was faithful about tithing and also giving to local homeless shelters. Al would share the path to salvation with anyone who would listen – including all of our (Andy and Holly’s) friends. He served as a Sunday school teacher at Latonia Baptist for years. He was best known for his Bible Baseball game. Speaking of baseball, Al was a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds – through the good years and the bad. Al loved music. He had an extensive record collection and attended many concerts when he was younger. He was a big fan of Elvis and the Beatles. Music from the 1960s comforted him in his final years. Al loved doughnuts and pastries (especially if he caught them on sale). But most of all, he loved his family. He enjoyed taking his family to the beach and to Gatlinburg. Some of our favorite family memories came from snafus during family trips. Al will be buried with his wife of over 50 years, Gloria, at Floral Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to the Cat Adoption Team of Northern Kentucky and Southern Ohio. Al enjoyed the company of several strays that lived near his home. The cats accepted him exactly as he was. (I will post a link). Finally, if an elderly person strikes up a conversation with you, talk with them. Kindness is free. You may be the only person he/she interacts with all day. So don’t be a douche. Services and burial are private.
