ALVIN R. ROSCOW, 77, of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois, passed away at 7:00 am, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born to the late James and Thelma (nee Hunter) Roscow on February 20, 1948, in Red Bud, Illinois.
Alvin worked alongside his brother, Robert, at their father’s roofing company, Roscow Roofing. After their father’s passing, Alvin and Robert continued the family business for over 20 years. He also worked as an auctioneer, first with Ed Kueker Auctions and then with Burmester Auction Service for over 20 years. He was raised in the Catholic Faith. Alvin was a member of Carpenter Union #1361.
A cowboy at heart, he raised painted horses and hitched up wagons for rides. A compassionate person, he took great pleasure in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Alvin served in the Army Reserve.
