Alvin Douglas "A.D." Skinner, 76, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson.
Doug was born in Providence on October 9, 1949, to the late Charles and Lucille Skinner.
He was also a dedicated member of Diamond Baptist church in Diamond. For 27 years, Doug worked as a coal miner for Pyro before continuing his career as an electrician, welder, and mechanic at Alliance Coal's central shop for 10 years.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Skinner,
Doug was also a musician; he loved singing and playing his guitar. In addition, he was a member of the Carroll Peyton Band, the KY travelers, and the Mountain View Pickers.
Survivors include his wife of 20 Years, Linda of Clay; daughter Dana Bowles (Greg) of Hanson; 3 sons Chris Skinner (Candy), Mitchell Hedgepath (T.J.) of Newburgh, IN, Michael Hedgepath (Holli); brother Thomas Skinner (Linda) of Sullivan; grandchildren Kati Parker (Jacob), Grant Skinner, Parker Bowles, Dalton Hedgepath (Alyse), Natalie Hedgepath, Lilly Moman, Ruby Kate Hedgepath, Georgia Hedgepath; 2 great-grandchildren Elena Parker and Asher Parker.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Providence at 3:00 PM. Brother Jim Lantrip and Brother Johnnie Davis will be officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12:00 PM till the service time at the church.
Memorial contributions can be made to Lucy Smith King Care Center, 2410 South Green St, Henderson, KY 42420, or CWCCF ( Caring for Webster County Cancer Fighters), P O Box 183, Dixon, KY 42409.
