He was a kind and friendly member of the Rush seniors club. Always upbeat and a good listener. One of my favorite gentlemen in our club. I´ll miss him and his monthly reporting on the doings of the Rush Fire Department. Rest in peace Al.

I'm Alvin's youngest son James..., I'm named after both of my grandfathers. I learned a lot from Grandpa (Fred) and Granny (Mary) Sweet (His mom and dad) and a lot more from my awesome dad Alvin... even though he sometimes was like, "What is wrong with this kid?" Haha... but, I won the Dad and Mom lottery when I was born...

I'm so proud of everything my dad has been a part of and I brag about him constantly.... He joined the FD in 1952 and was active till you couldn't be.... Dedication....

I tried so hard to come home and weather messed things up.... I'm severely broken hearted that I can't be there for my awesome Dad and to support the best mom ever... I went thru so much medical stuff , and my dad was always there, plus he wasn't just my dad he was a brother Firefighter... I need to be there so bad....

In the Photo ( Mendon FD parade) My Dad Alvin, is carrying the American Flag (in his 80's), My Brother Dale, carrying the Rush fire dept flag, I'm rifleman guarding on the left, and our friend Jenna guarding Dad on his right.....

Dad was one of the best people ever, He did a lot more than I can list here, and like I said above, "I won the kid lottery"
