Alvin Wells Obituary
After graduating from Bradwell Institute in Hinesville and the University of Georgia, he completed his studies at the UGA School of Law in 1974.
He remained a member of the Georgia Bar Association for the remainder of his life, practicing real estate law primarily. He spent six decades as a licensed land surveyor in Liberty and surrounding counties.
Mr. Wells was a member of Liberty Baptist Church since 1954.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Marie Conner Wells; his brothers, Jiley, Dean and Wyman Wells; and his sister, Avis Wisner.
Survivors include five daughters, Marie (Bruce) Dubberly, Shelly Wells, Shannon (Luis) Montijo, Nicki Lee and Angela Torres; two sons, Tony (Tracy) Helmuth and Ray Griner Jr.; sister, Kay Greene; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from noon until 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church.
The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
