Alvin Williams Obituary

Published by Legacy from Jul. 8 to Jul. 9, 2025.
Alvin LaShawn Williams, known affectionately by his loved ones as "Shawn," "Strang," "Al," or "Vino," was born on August 16, 1992, to Betty Regina (Nesbitt) Williams and Alvin (Al) Conner. He departed this life on Sunday, July 6, 2025. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lucille Sanders and Redell Nesbitt, Sr., and paternal grandparents, Freddy and Lula Mae Conner. Raised primarily by his beloved grandmother Lucille Sanders, the two shared a bond that words could never quite capture. Her influence shaped him into the man he became, loving, loyal, and full of life.

Alvin was raised in the church and became a member of New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church at a young age under the leadership of the late Pastor William L. Miller. He was a graduate of Tattnall County High School Class of 2011. Alvin was most recently employed with Duramatic, but his spirit was always that of a creator and entrepreneur. Whether it was cosmetology, nail artistry, fashion, or training dogs with precision, Alvin had a gift for mastering whatever he put his mind to.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Regina Williams, and father, Alvin (Al) Conner; his brothers Gregory L. Griffin (Lavell), Charley L. Williams, Jr. (Koon C), Richard B. Williams (OG), and Kevin D. Williams (Marcus); two first cousins raised as siblings, Kenyetta (Don)Nesbitt-Simmons and Stephon Nesbitt; an uncle and "second father," Ernest J. Wilcox; aunts Sarah Nesbitt and Priscilla Ford-Wilcox; his treasured nieces, Malazia Williams and Chaniya Williams; and a host of other aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. To know Alvin was to love him. He was fun-loving, carefree, and naturally funny, a true people person who never met a stranger. Rest well, Shawn. Your legacy lives on.
