Major Erickson Funeral Home & CrematoryAlyce Maurine (Miller) Bailey, age 98, passed away peacefully at her home at Cornerstone Assisted Living, 300 2nd Street NW, Mason City, on October 30, 2025. A memorial service will be held in the spring, at Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday, April 24th, 2026 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dan Gerrietts officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Mason City Foundation and Music Man Square.
Alyce was born in Ames, Iowa to Sidney and Tora Miller. She married Richard Bailey, and they located in Mason City in 1950. Alyce and Dick had four children David, Deborah, John and Barbara and were involved with them in their activities and enjoyed many vacations and trips together.
Alyce was active in church organizations, YWCA board, KCMR board, Aquatic center, Mason City Foundation, Music Man Square board, Boy and Girl Scouts, PEO-DZ, Occident Club and many community drives.
She and Dick loved to golf, attend ISU and Hawkeye football games with friends, get togethers with their church couples’ group, dance to Glenn Miller’s String of Pearls and making each other laugh.
Alyce is survived by her children Deborah (Jeff) Astroth, John Bailey and wife Janet Carlson, Barbara (Paul) Fitzgerald, sister-in-laws Shirley Bailey and Colleen Bailey, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dick; infant son, Michael; son, David; sisters, Katherine Culbert, Jeanne Johnson, Ruth Nielsen, and Janet McGee; and brother, Edward Miller.
