Alyson Lea Cox Phipps, lovingly known as Aly, passed away on December 19, 2024, in her hometown of Cartersville, Georgia, at the age of 34. Born on April 30, 1990, Aly graced the world with her radiant smile, kind heart, and the gift of spreading happiness wherever she went. Aly was a proud graduate of Kennesaw State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Public Relations. Her professional accomplishments in entrepreneurship and historic preservation were matched only by her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Aly’s greatest joy and most cherished thing in life was her beloved daughter, Layla June Phipps. She shared the love and care of Layla with her ex-husband, Mason Phipps, and his wife, Logan Phipps. Together, they provided a nurturing environment filled with love for Layla and her little sister Millie. She is survived by her devoted parents, Tyra and Russell Ballard, and Tim and Sheri Cox, as well as her cherished grandparents, Dewey (JR) and Judy Pritchett, and Larry and Barbara Cox. She will greatly be missed by her Aunt Brandi and Uncle Robert Hurd and their daughters Kylie and Kadie Jo and other extended family. Family isn’t always blood, she was surrounded by a beautiful group of girlfriends who shared life with her, Danielle Middleton, Alyssa Cole, Nicole Clark, Emma Hale and Kristin Dial. Special friends also included Mr. John Lewis and Rick and Kathy Reynolds. Aly was the embodiment of love and kindness, and her family and friends were blessed to share in her light. Aly will be remembered for her genuine love of people, her infectious laughter, and her ability to brighten even the darkest days. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A Private Celebration of Aly’s life will be held for family after the holidays. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to one of the accounts at Bank of America or Family Savings Credit Union. More information can be provided upon request.
Alyson Lea Cox Phipps will forever remain a beacon of love and joy, reminding us all to cherish life and the people we hold dear.
