Alyssa Lynn DeLong

Ms. Alyssa Lynn DeLong, 34, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 22, 2024. She was born April 4,1990, in Ilion, NY to her parents who survive, Tom and Marianne DeLong. Alyssa graduated from Winston-Salem State University with a BA degree in Nursing. She worked for Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Health as a nurse. Surviving are two daughters, Blakelynn Fisher and Kenzlee Singleton; sister, Christine Luffman (Nick); partner, Matthew Singleton; three nieces, Delaney, Kelsey and Finley Luffman; also surviving are two stepchildren, Alaina and Brayden Singleton. Alyssa also leaves behind her aunts, Barbara Weeks, Cathy Wiggins, Susan Guyer (Loren), Melissa Diehl, Diane Kornas and her uncle, John Barnum. She leaves many cousins. Alyssa was blessed with special friends, Hailey Mize, Ashley Shoaf, Peyton Pawlik, Alex Stevens and Brandon Pane. Alyssa was preceded in death by grandparents Margaret and Victor Kornas and Beverly and Charles Delong. She also leaves behind her uncle’s, Joseph Kornas, Charles Delong, Jr., James Delong, Terry Wiggins, John Weeks and her aunt, Mary Ann Barnum. Alyssa also cherished her nephew, Owen Luffman. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Fr. James Stuhrenberg officiating.
