Amanda Maria Bishop, 58, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born on June 10, 1967, in Jonesboro to Ruben Hinton and Teresa Young.
Amanda graduated from Westside High School in 1986. She was a private person who cherished her small circle of close friends and loved spending time with her family. Those who knew her will remember her quiet strength and the deep care she had for the people closest to her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ruben Hinton; sister, Pamela South; brother, Todd Hinton; and grandson, Bentley Peterson.
Amanda is survived by her husband, Elliott Bishop of Jonesboro; her mother, Teresa Young of Jonesboro; her son, Jesse Bishop (Heather) of Bay; her daughter, Kandace Johnson (Kevin) of Indiana; and her beloved grandchildren, Sebastian Smith, Brandon Stringer, Rachel Smith, Sophia Otero, Zoe Bishop, Jaysen Bishop, Saria Bishop, and Porsha Wright.
