Eric Lewis Johnson, 49, of Cash, departed this life on March 9, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 23, 1976, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Robert Lewis and Patricia Johnson.
Eric was a graduate of Westside High School, Class of 1994. He was a dedicated member for over 20 years of Valley Ridge Baptist Church. Eric dedicated much of his life to working on the river, a career he was proud of for over 30 years. For the past 20 years, he served as Chief Engineer on a riverboat with Hines Furlong Line. He was also a member of the Beech Creek Hunting Club for more than 28 years and a member of the Elks Lodge for the past 15 years.
Eric loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and processing meat on the side. He also cherished time spent at Lake Norfork, embracing the lake life he loved so much, and was known to enjoy cooking for family and friends. Above all, Eric’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his wife of 28 years, Jessica.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jessica Johnson; his son, Sgt. Dawson Johnson; his daughter, Erika Johnson; his father, Lewis (Loyce) Johnson; his mother, Patricia Johnson; his brothers, Michael (Gayla) Johnson, Jason Johnson, and Erin (Rayna) Johnson; his grandmother, Fostine Jordan; along with multiple nieces and nephews and a lifetime of friends who will cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 16, 2026, at Emerson Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Bobby Floyd and Bro. Gary Henderson Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery in Cash.
Pallbearers will be Brad Brannen, Brad Montgomery, Cameron Tate, Brett Wortham, Chad Larose, and Nathan Crotts. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Hines Furlong Line.
For lasting memorials, the family requests that donations be made to Valley Ridge Baptist Church or the Johnson Cemetery Fund.
