Amanda Kate Boggess, age 48, passed away in
Grand Rapids, MI, on Friday, February 6, 2026. She was born in
Pontiac, MI, on January 15, 1978, to Larkin and Jennifer (Mengyan) Stamper. She graduated from Walled Lake High School and went on to work various careers over the years, including working for Central Dispatch for the City of Muskegon, driving a school bus for Whitehall Public Schools, and most recently as a salesperson for MasterTag. On October 22, 2005, she married Jamie Boggess, and the two of them spent 20 wonderful years together.
Mandy loved to spend time at the beach and out boating on the water. She was an avid motorcycle rider, something she loved to do with her family. She was a free spirit and never sat still, she was always on the move and looking for adventures. She loved traveling, taking trips to visit friends whenever she could. She enjoyed working with kids, something she was able to do while working in her friend Kristin's classroom at Shelby Elementary School. Mandy had a loyal and generous nature, and she never shied away from speaking her mind. She was a strong, kind-hearted, and loving woman who she cherished her family more than anything. She had a fierce love for her sons and took great pride in the young men she raised them to be.
Mandy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jamie Boggess; three sons: James (Kalley) Wilcox, Noah Boggess, and Tristin Boggess; six grandchildren: Chloe, Drake, Payton, Addie, Skylar, and Elaina; father, Larkin Stamper; four siblings: Hobie (Kim) Stamper, Doug Stamper, Michelle Stamper, and Heather (Jake) Stamper-Josefosky; parents in-law: Dean and Debbie Miller; close cousins, Liz (Julian Goodson) Jirous and Kelly (Gator) Moore; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended relatives. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jenny Stamper; four aunts: Nancy Horten, Kathleen Mengyan, Linda Mengyan, and Terry Lynn Mengyan; uncle, Steven Mengyan; and cousin, Morgan Horten.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held for Mandy in the summer, details will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Helen Keller Foundation for Research and Education (2208 University Boulevard, Suite 101, Birmingham, Alabama, USA 35233).
