Amanda "Mandy" Charters

Amanda "Mandy" Michelle (Stults) Charters was born September 20, 1987, in Mattoon, IL the beloved only daughter of Michael and Karen (Maxwell) Stults. She married the love of her life, John Charters on November 3, 2013.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday February 13, 2024, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday February 12, 2024, also at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. The family is requesting casual attire. The burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery.
Mandy is survived by her loving husband, John and children Haylee, Chance, and Katy all at home in Roachdale, IN, her parents, Mike and Karen Stults of Toledo, brothers, Adam of Greenup and Matthew (Meg) of Rardin, mother-in-law and father in-law, Jim and Melissa Charters of Effingham, brother-in-law, Clint (Ashley) Charters of Effingham, nephew, Jack Charters of Effingham and arriving soon niece, Kimber Stults. Along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her infant boys, Wade and Elliot, maternal grandparents, Don and Rosemary (Mullens) Maxwell and paternal grandparents, Ned and Nina (Wade) Stults.
From a young age Amanda's smile lit up the room. She enjoyed all things girlie and wanted to be the star of the room, which led her to take dance classes. This soon developed a love for clogging which turned into traveling for competitively with Kelly and Courtney Figgins as K.A.C. Cloggers. She remained active in dance during Jr. High being chosen to dance at the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade 2 years in a row. Her dance transitioned to a 4-year love of cheer as she entered high school. Throughout her childhood and into her teens she followed in her mom and cousins' footsteps of competing in pageants and was crowned Miss Greenup Fall Festival 2006.
As Mandy entered high school the country girl at heart joined FFA. She was an active leader for Cumberland FFA all 4 years of high school. She was on the National Tractor Restoration team, National Forestry Team, Section Dairy judging, Chapter President, and Section 20 President. During this time, she made many new friends from all around the area, but her best friend was classmate Chad Sponsel, who was also taken from this life before his time.
After college. Mandy was a CNA and most recently a paraprofessional at Roachdale Elementary School which allowed her to spend time with her kids and their activities. As Mandy and John moved to Ohio and Indiana, she made many new friends and became involved in her kid's schools, sports, community events and organizations. She was very passionate about Autism Awareness and Acceptance and was the appointed "community speaker" whenever needed. Mandy followed in her mom's love of crafts, and it had grown over the years. She had a small business venture with a friend, Bitter B' Crafting and enjoyed cricut crafting, wreath making, but most recently yarn blankets gifting most all her handmade items.
Mandy held a special place in everyone's heart, to know her was to love her! She was her daddy's little girl, her mom's bestie, and grandma Rosemary's sidekick.
If you knew Amanda, you loved her, you laughed with her, you were loud with her but most of all YOU were LOVED by her!
