In Loving Memory of Amanda Beth Kolby
Amanda Beth Kolby of Plymouth passed away peacefully on December 3rd, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 23, 1980, in Buffalo, New York, to loving parents Elizabeth A. (Hogan) Kolby of Wellesley and Nathan J. Kolby of Buffalo, NY.
Amanda Kolby dedicated over 20 years of her life to special education, working tirelessly in instructional, administrative and leadership roles ranging from the classroom teacher to High School Principal, Her commitment to advocating for students with disabilities has left a lasting impact on several school districts. Families and colleagues alike respected her dedication and her no-nonsense approach to ensuring the best outcomes for students. Armed with 2 master's degrees, a label-maker and a delightfully wicked sense of humor, she brought real connections to the students who needed an advocate, families that needed support, and teachers who needed inspiration.
In addition to her cherished mother, Amanda is survived by her sister, Helen J. Kolby of Buffalo, NY, and her aunt,Katherine Hogan of Manomet, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in her honor on Saturday, December 13th, at 11:00 AM at St. Bonaventure Church, 803 State Rd, Plymouth (Manomet). Burial of her cremated remains will take place on a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Waltham, MA.
