Amanda Risser Obituary
Amanda Jewel Risser, age 31, of Greencastle, PA was called home peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Born in Greencastle, PA on October 24, 1992, she was the daughter of Phillip E. and Pamela Kuhns Risser.
Amanda was a member of Cedar Grove Mennonite Church and a 2014 graduate of the Franklin Learning Center. Although, Amanda was unable to speak verbally, she spoke volumes with her eyes and her infectious smile. Even with her limitations, Amanda made profound impacts on many others, who learned to know her; she was truly a blessing to all. Amanda enjoyed listening to music, watching children's television programs, Winnie the Pooh, and especially interacting with her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her siblings, Daniel Risser (wife Cara) of Mt. Vernon, OH, Elizabeth Barthlow (husband Jason) of Greencastle, PA, Lena Weaver (husband Adam) of Shermans Dale, PA, and Leah Laughlin (husband Sam) of Greencastle, PA; six nephews; five nieces; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by both her paternal grandparents, Benjamin and Barbara Risser and maternal grandparents, Harold and Vera Kuhns.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 11 AM at Cedar Grove Mennonite Church, 13343 Williamsport Pike, Greencastle, PA 17225, where Pastor Randy Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 4 – 6 PM and on Monday, March 4 from 10 – 11 AM at the above church and address. Interment will follow the service in the adjoining church cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA.
