Nancy L. Murray, age 82, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born in Hagerstown, MD on April 30, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John Leiter and Anna Saylor Garling.
Mrs. Murray was a 1961 graduate of the Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School. She worked in the packing department for over 40 years at Beck Manufacturing, retiring in 2009. She had previously attended the First United Methodist Church in Greencastle. Mrs. Murray enjoyed caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, spending time with family, watching the game show network, and reminiscing with friends and strangers alike.
Surviving are six children, Terry L. Murray (wife Vicky) of Chambersburg, PA, Gary L. Murray (wife Daphne) of Greencastle, PA, Brenda K. Creek (husband Dave) of Greencastle, PA, Barry A. Murray (wife Amy) of Marion, PA, Melissa A. Murray of Greencastle, PA, and Steven R. Murray of Greencastle, PA; a close nephew, Scott Garling (wife Annette) of Greencastle, PA; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judy Garling of Pittsburgh, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eber Murray in 2019 and a brother, William K. Garling.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 11 AM at Otterbein United Brethren Church, 146 Leitersburg St., Greencastle, PA 17225, where Pastor David Rawley will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the above church and address. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Otterbein United Brethren Church’s Building Fund at the address above.
