Gail Annette Murray, born on July 26, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, in Layton, Utah, surrounded by loved ones while enjoying her favorite Diet Coke. A devoted wife, mother, and passionate professional, Gail leaves behind a legacy shaped by her unwavering dedication and love.
Gail enjoyed a fulfilling career as a budget analyst for Hill Air Force Base, where she took immense pride in her work supporting the F-16 jets. Her intelligence and great determination were evident in all she undertook, and those around her admired her ability to get things accomplished with grace and efficiency. She also earned her paralegal associates degree.
In addition to her professional achievements, Gail had a nurturing spirit and was particularly proud of her various roles within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she dedicated herself to helping children. Her hobbies included tending to her yard and garden, attending concerts, traveling, capturing moments through photography, and cherishing time spent with family. Her effort and love of the outdoors and her effort in creating a beautiful garden mirrored her kind and vibrant personality.
Gail is remembered as someone who carried "the love of an angel and the fight of a lion." Her presence brought joy to those who knew her, and her strength and compassion will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Brian Murray; her loving daughter, Lisa Done (Carey); her son, Brandon Done (Carolyn); and her son, Daniel Hadley (Erica), 6 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson. Gail was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Hadley, and her mother, Barbara Hadley.
A funeral service in honor of Gail will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (1402 N Fort Lane) Layton, Utah. A viewing will held at 10:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Afterwards, a graveside service will take place at Memorial Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 Lakeview Dr, Bountiful, UT.
As we gather to celebrate her life and the impact she had on so many, we are reminded of the indelible mark she has left in our hearts. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide all who had the privilege of knowing her.
