Amanda Lee (Purington) Robertson
Fondly known as "Mandy," age 82, passed away unexpectedly on November 7, 2024, at Exeter Hospital. Born on October 20, 1942, in Exeter, NH, Mandy was the cherished daughter of the late Leonard George "Bud" Purington and Pearl (Bouchard) Purington.
Mandy was raised in Deerfield, NH, and graduated from Raymond High School. From an early age, she had a deep love for horses, painting, and country music, and she found joy in dancing and gardening. On March 23, 1991, she married her soulmate, Lawrence Robertson, whom she had met through CB radio during his years as a truck driver. Together, they built a beautiful life in Raymond, where Mandy lived for over 65 years.
She spent 25 years working at Bailey's in Seabrook before discovering her true calling as a home health aide. In this role, Mandy's loving and compassionate nature shone through, leaving a lasting impact on those she cared for. Mandy was also a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church of Raymond, where she sang in the choir. She was actively involved in the Hurd-Welch American Legion Auxiliary and had a passion for NASCAR.
In addition to her parents, Mandy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lawrence Robertson, her three sons, Laddie, Danny, and Billie, and her brothers, Richard and Jamie.
Mandy is survived by her daughters, Nadine McDonald, Jennifer Stringer and her husband, Robert, and Amadee Locke; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Arvella Grover; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her lifelong friend and cousin, Ramona Benson.
A celebration of Mandy's life will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church, 51 Main St., Raymond, NH.
A second celebration of life will be held on November 23, 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Hurd-Welch American Legion, 32 Harriman Hill Rd., Raymond, NH.
In lieu of flowers, Mandy requested that plants be planted in her memory, honoring her love for nature and gardening.
