John K. Frontiero, age 52, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, at the Hanover Hill Health Care Center in Manchester, NH, surrounded by loving family and friends, after a courageous battle with brain cancer diagnosed in July 2022.
Born on August 29, 1973, in Mountain View, California, John was the beloved son of Robert F. Frontiero Sr. and Judith M. (Hanson) Frontiero. He grew up in Raymond, New Hampshire, the middle of three children, and was a proud graduate of Raymond High School, Class of 1991, where he earned varsity letters in baseball, basketball, and soccer playing all four years. A natural athlete, John's talent and competitive spirit shone brightly on every field and court he played. He also went on to earn an Associate Degree in Business from the University of New Hampshire.
A lifelong New England sports fan, John loved cheering on his favorite teams and attending professional games whenever he could. Professionally, he built a successful and dedicated career in the grocery industry, beginning as a cart attendant and bagger at Shop-N-Save in Raymond, where his strong work ethic and leadership quickly propelled him to the role of Store Manager. He went on to work for Hannaford and later held management positions in North Carolina, Virginia, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine, including a leadership role with Homeruns.com and most recently as Branch Manager for Stop & Shop's main distribution center in Massachusetts, overseeing their delivery service division.
Above all, John's greatest joy and source of pride was his daughter, Grace Frontiero. A devoted and loving father, he rarely missed her games or events, always cheering from the sidelines with his signature smile. John was known for his kindness, selflessness, and contagious positivity-he had a remarkable ability to lift others up and bring laughter to any gathering. His friends and family will forever remember him as the life of the party, always ready with a joke, a story, or a toast-Sláinte!
John enjoyed listening to music, attending concerts, watching horse racing, and taking golf vacations with loved ones. A talented cook and "Grill Master," he was well-known for his backyard barbecues and warm hospitality.
He formerly resided in Wakefield, MA, and made his home in Winthrop, MA, for the past 13 years. John was a proud and longtime member of the Winthrop Elks Club, where he served as treasurer for the bowling league and made countless lasting friendships.
John is survived by his daughter, Grace Frontiero; his partner, Kathleen Cross; his parents, Robert and Judith Frontiero; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert Jr. and Jacqueline Frontiero; his sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Bob Slater; nephews Austin and Noah Slater; and niece Kylie Slater and many extended family members and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 2 Epping Street, Raymond, NH. There will be a Celebration of Life immediately following calling hours at the Holy Grail Restaurant/Camelot function hall in Epping, NH
A private graveside service will take place at New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, NH.
