Long time resident of Medfield, Amelia "Millie" Beatrice Kennedy, 95, passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2025.
Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada on July 1, 1930, Millie immigrated to the Boston area with her sister, Thelma, where she worked as a governess in Dover, MA. She and her devoted husband, Bob, married in 1959 and moved to their forever home of 64 years where they raised their three children in Medfield, MA.
Nothing brought Millie more joy than her family. She always looked forward to family gatherings, celebrating holidays and birthdays, and the impromptu visits from local and Canadian family members. Millie cherished every family interaction no matter how small. Millie loved being outside. She enjoyed bird watching in her yard, growing her tomato plants, and looking out onto Belleau Lake from her porch in Wakefield, New Hampshire. When not outside, she enjoyed watching game shows on TV, jigsaw puzzles with her grandson, Nicholas, talking on the phone, and a good cup of hot tea. Millie also liked to cook and was known for her meatballs, Congo bars, and beloved cherry pie, which she proudly brought to family dinners. Millie enjoyed her daily rides "thru town" with her loving husband, Bob, to the cemetery to visit her late son, Pete, and other family and friends.
She is survived by her adoring husband of 66 years, Robert "Bob" Kennedy; two beloved children, Deborah (Kennedy) Christopher and her husband Mark of Newton, and Robert "Bobby" Kennedy Jr. and his wife AnnaMaria of Medfield. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Nicholas Christopher, Peter Kennedy, and Lauren Nagel. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Millie was predeceased by her parents, Austin and Isabelle MacDonald, her six siblings, Roy, Howard, Mary, Sadie, Alma and Thelma, and her late son Peter "Pete" Kennedy.
A visitation will be held at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 9:00 - 11:00 am, concluding with a brief prayer service beginning at 11:00. Interment will be at Vine Lake Cemetery in Medfield.

"Big" Bob, Bobby, Deb & Family. I want you to know how sorry I am to hear about Millie's passing. I can still remember her smiling face and her tongue-in-cheek jokester nature. And that priceless laugh. I also remember that every time Bobby and I would get in trouble (which seems like a lot looking back now.....), she'd tell me that I must have been the instigator because Bobby wouldn't have done it on his own. I didn't mind because that was Mill (or Millhouse as Bobby used to call her LOL), always protecting her family. Family was always first. I hadn't seen her (or any of you) very much in the 45 (?) years since I moved away from Medfield but, I know in my heart that she stayed true to her family-first personality.
They say that it's not the two years that are marked on our gravestones that count, but that little dash in between and how we live those years that is the real measure. Millie certainly made the most use of that little dash in between and lived a long and good life. Everyone is going to miss her until we all see her again someday.
Till then, RIP Millie.
