Amie Lanell Baucom, 54, of New London, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024 unexpectedly at home.

Amie was an incredible mother and an amazing daughter. She always wore a smile so radiant that it was contagious. Her bubbly personality was a guarantee and she never met a stranger. Being a high school cheerleader seemed to extend to all areas of her life; she loved to encourage and support others, especially those she cared for.

Amie was a huge animal lover and animals were naturally drawn to her. Over her lifetime she had several pets and she loved each one of them with her whole heart, especially her favorite dog Weebles. Besides her son Brody and her pets, Amie's other passion was music. She believed music was a free therapy and she has a play list for literally every situation. The beach was Amie's happy place, she felt serenity when she viewed God's beautiful creation. Amie had a very strong faith, she loved God with all her heart and longed to let her light shine bright. Amie will be deeply missed by many.

Survivors include her son, Brody Baucom, father, Richard (Joanne) Baucom of Oakboro, mother, Judie Mills (Jay) DeMuth of Albemarle, NC,sister, Angela (Tate) Osborne, niece Gracen and nephew Sawyer of Oakboro.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle, officiated by Rev. Kinney Wallace. Burial will be held at Stanly Gardens of Memory.
