Karen Anne Covington, 72, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Sardis Oaks Nursing Center in Charlotte.
Karen was born June 11, 1953, in North Carolina to the late Donald Motte Cook and the late Melva Jeanette Cook.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Cook, Jr., Michael Cook, and Gary Cook.
Karen’s passions were in health care and family and for those reasons, she attended college at Central Piedmont Community College for Nursing and dedicated her life to her family and others as a nurse and a mother, a caregiver, and a friend.
Survivors included her two sons, Chad Covington (Brittany) and Chase Covington and partner Laurie, as well as her granddaughters, Aiyana, Lilah, and Taylor Covington.
There will be a private gathering of the family to honor Karen’s memory.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Covington family.
