Amis Andrew "Andy" Mitchell, 88, husband of the late Margaret Ann Blankenship Mitchell, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
Born in Jewell Ridge, VA, he was a son of the late Arthur Mitchell and the late Linnie Boyd Mitchell Cole.
Mr. Mitchell was a welder and carpenter, and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his children, Randy Arthur Mitchell (Kathy) of Easley, and Garry Mitchell, Michael Dean Mitchell, and Vickie Lee Mitchell Swader (Charles), all of Somerville, AL; a brother, Otto Mitchell (Dixie); grandchildren, Amos Mitchell (Jenn), Andrew Mitchell (Melina), Tony Swader, Adam Swader, Helena Mitchell, Kimberly Mitchell, and Annie Mitchell; and great-grandchildren, Regan Mitchell, Chasity Jacobs, Elizabeth Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, Timothy Mitchell, Ally Cole Swader, and Wheeler Colt Swader.
In addition to his loving wife of 68 years, he was preceded in death by sons, Craig Lavoy Mitchell and Kevin Mitchell; and grandchildren, Roxann and Crystal Mitchell.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2024 in Mitchell Cemetery in Jewell Ridge, VA.
